(In many Texas counties, the Tax Assessor-Collector is also the Voter Registrar. In some counties, the County Clerk or Elections Administrator registers voters.) You can also register by mail by obtaining an application from your County Elections office or pick up applications at libraries, government offices, or high schools. The deadline to register to vote in any election is thirty calendar days prior to the Election Day date (or postmarked no less than thirty calendar days prior to the Election Day date).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>When Texans register to vote, do they register for a certain party?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No. There are only registered voters in Texas. There is no party registration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How do I find my polling location?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Texas voters may vote at any polling location within their county of residence\/registration. Your County\u2019s website should provide the most current list of polling locations, and you can obtain this information in-person at the County Elections office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How do I vote with a mail-in ballot?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To be eligible to vote early by mail in Texas, you must meet one of the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">be 65 years or older or<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">be disabled or<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">be out of the <\/span><b>county<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on election day and during the early voting period or<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible or<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">expected to give birth within three weeks of Election Day<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Request an Application for a Ballot by Mail here: <a href=\"https:\/\/bbm.sos.state.tx.us\/bbm.asp\">https:\/\/webservices.sos.state.tx.us\/vrrequest\/bbm.asp<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Military and overseas voters are welcome to use the regular registration and early voting by mail process available to all voters who will be away from their home county on Election Day. You will find your state senator and your Senate District under \u201cTexas State Senator\u201d and your state representative and your House District number under \u201cTexas State Representative\u201d. Use these Senate District and House District numbers when you reference the TFVC Voter Guide for any Primary or General Election.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Election Specific Questions:<\/b><\/h4>\n<h5><b>PRIMARY:<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>Can any registered voter vote in any primary election?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Texas has\u00a0 open primary elections, meaning anyone can cast a ballot in the primary of their choice, regardless of whether you\u2019ve voted in that party\u2019s primary before. Republicans can vote in the Democrat primary. Democrats can vote in the Republican primary. You can still only vote in <\/span><b>one<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> primary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>If I don\u2019t vote in the Primary, can I vote in the Primary Run-off?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you&#8217;ve voted in a party primary, you can vote in only <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> party&#8217;s run-offs. If you skip the primary, you can vote in<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> either <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">party\u2019s run-off. How and whether you vote in a primary and run-off has no bearing on your vote in the November general election.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>When do I vote in the Primary Election?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Primary Election Day in Texas is the first Tuesday of March in even-numbered years, preceded by an Early Voting period.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>OTHER ELECTIONS:<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>If I did not vote in the Primary Election, can I still vote in subsequent elections that calendar year?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How and whether you voted in the Primary has no bearing on how or whether you vote in any other election that year, including the November General Election. Any registered voter can vote in municipal elections and the General Election.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>When do I vote in the General Election?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">General Election Day in Texas is the first Tuesday of November in even-numbered\u00a0 years, preceded by an Early Voting period.
