Ann Johnson’s resolution HR 835<\/a> would celebrate Big Pharma and promote jabs by having the state mark March 29, 2023 as \u201cVaccine Advocacy and Awareness Day\u201d to honor the Baker Institute at Rice University. Their Center for Health and Biosciences boasts \u201cFellows and Scholars\u201d like <\/span>Dr. Peter Hotez<\/span><\/a>, who has publicly labeled TFVC as \u201canti-vaxx\u201d, branding its supporters as \u201cpeople actually eager to endanger lives of Texas children just to espouse their miserable pseudoscience ideologies\u201d. The resolution specifically applauds the <\/span>\u201cVaccines Cause Adults\u201d<\/span><\/a> program -sponsored by the Baker Institute in partnership with taxpayer-funded lobbying group The Immunization Partnership – a marketing campaign that promotes a mandatory state vaccine database and recruits pastors to combat vaccine hesitancy and misinformation by delivering \u201cmessages about vaccine safety\u201d from the pulpit.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Serious question – are any Texans <\/span>not aware of vaccines<\/i><\/b>? Should the state be using its energy to market pharmaceutical products, promote a lobbying group that uses its funds to <\/span>insult<\/span><\/a> duly elected officials, celebrate organizations that seek to violate your medical privacy, and a \u201chealth expert\u201d who <\/span>admits<\/span><\/a> to being a \u201cjunkfoodaholic\u201d? Does Rep. Johnson believe this resolution is really a great use of elected officials\u2019 time, while TFVC-supported bills like <\/span>HB 609<\/span><\/a> are slow-crawling through the legislative process?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n
